Q. How do I know my belongings are safe with you?
A. Our facility is one of the most secure facilities in the business.
- All of our units are temperature and humidity controlled, so you know your belongings won’t be damaged by extreme temperature or humidity.
- Our facility has controlled access into the building – as well as to each floor.
- Security cameras provide 24 hour videotaped surveillance both inside and outside of the facility.
- The walls and floors of our facility are concrete.
- Our facility is fully protected with a fire sprinkler system.
- We are a class ‘D’ earthquake rated building – a higher classification than code requirements and one of the few facilities in the nation that can claim this high rating.

Q. What are ‘climate-controlled’ units?
A. The industry uses “climate-controlled” to describe the control of both temperature and humidity. While we acknowledge that we cannot control the climate we do condition our storage space by keeping both the temperature and humidity level in a range similar to the air-conditioned space in your home or business. Q. Where are you located?
A. We are centrally located in West Knox County at the intersection of Northshore Drive and Pellissippi Parkway (I-140).

Q. What are your hours of operation?
A. Our office is open from 8:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the evening Monday through Friday and 9:00 in the morning until 3:00 in the afternoon Saturday. Our office is closed on Sunday. During office hours the Manager is available to assist you with renting a unit; answering your questions; or selling moving and packing supplies.

Q. Do you have extended hours?
A. Yes, you can sign up for “extended access” or access when the office is closed. “Extended access” allows access to your unit 7 days a week 24 hours a day. Learn more about extended hours in ‘Terms and Conditions”

Q. Do you have a dock and will it accommodate large and small trucks?
A. We have a covered dock with three dock heights providing easy roll on/roll off loading from a moving van, a pickup truck or an automobile.

Q. Are there trucks or vans available to help in my move?
A. Yes, you can arrange for the rental of a truck through us. We provide you the ability to choose the size of truck that will meet your needs. Q. Do you have carts available?
A. We have pushcarts, hand trucks and mattress carriers available for your use on site to facilitate moving items to your unit. Bact to top
Q. Do you have extra high doors in some of your units?
A. Yes, we have units with 8 foot wide doors with a 7 foot 7 inch height opening.

Q. Is there extra lighting in the larger units?
A. Yes, we provide additional lighting in units that are 15 feet deep or deeper.Bact to top
Q. Do you have a storage area where business records, computer backup discs, and small valuables or firearms can be stored?
A. Yes, we have a ‘Private Storage’ area on the main floor that is accessed by both code and fingerprint identification. This is not a vault but has steel storage units and 24 hour video surveillance. The ‘Private Storage’ area is perfect for storing items of value or importance that need to have a greater degree of security than if stored at home or work, items that may be too big for a bank or home vaults, items or records that must be easily accessed in the evenings or on weekends when the banks are closed, or record /data storage that must be accessed by more than one individual. Q. Do you offer boxes and packing supplies?
A. We offer a wide variety of store merchandise including boxes and packing supplies for almost every need as well as wrapping and cushioning material. We have covers both plastic and cotton to protect stored items such as furniture. We also provide a variety of locks. You may also have materials shipped to your door from our Online Store or you may purchase supplies when you come in. Learn more about our packing and shipping supplies.Bact to top
Q. Do you provide shelving and do you have file boxes for storage of records?
A. Yes, many of our customers want to store fragile items or bulk items and need shelves in their unit. We rent shelving and set it up for you in your unit. Shelving is an excellent way to provide more space for storage in your unit. Boxed records can be stacked but easily accessed using shelving. Learn more about our shelving program.

Q. Are drive-up units available?
A. No – all our units are inside. We do however provide a covered dock with 3 heights for large trucks – pickup trucks – and automobiles to easily facilitate loading and unloading as well as 4 wheel carts to move your items to your unit.Bact to top
2. Questions about Renting a unit.
Q. How can I figure out what size storage unit I need?
A. Use our easy ‘on line guide’ incorporated in our “choose a unit” page or call us and talk to one of our storage specialists about the things you want to store and how you would like to store them. We will make a recommendation. Our telephone number is 865-558-6330 and we are available from 8AM to 5PM eastern time. Q. How much will a storage unit cost me?
A. Prices vary by size of the unit. Go to the ‘chose a unit’ page, where the various sizes and prices are listed. All units are indoors and all units are temperature and humidity controlled. Bact to top
Q. How far in advance can I book a reservation?
A. We know you need flexibility when trying to organize a move. So you can book a reservation for up to 30 days in advance. With a deposit we will hold the unit size you reserved during the 30 day period.

Q. How is my initial rent payment determined when I move in?
A. Your rent will be prorated from the day you rent the unit plus the following full month. For example if you rent the unit on the 20th of the month we will charge you for 1/3 month rent (10 days) plus the following full month. From then on the rent will be only a month’s payment due at the beginning of each month. Learn more in ‘Terms and Conditions”Bact to top
Q. Do I have to make a long-term commitment?
A. No – We offer month-to-month leases, meaning your commitment is for only 30 days. We also offer the flexibility of a long-term lease and offer discounts for longer term storage. Q. How much notice do I need to give to move out?
A. We require a seven (7) day written notice to move out. This is for your protection. The notice gives us time to contact you by phone and confirm your moving plans. Learn more about vacating in ‘Terms and Conditions”Bact to top
Q. I am in the process of moving and wish to use my current address and telephone information. How do I update my personal information after I move?
A. If you need to make address or telephone changes we require that you submit the changes either by mail or e-mail to us. We will confirm the changes by mail as well as e-mail. In addition we will call you to confirm the changes prior to them being made. This is to protect you from any unauthorized change. We understand that there are times when you are between addresses or have a temporary address or you are changing your telephone number. Let us know and we will make every effort to quickly update your account information while protecting your privacy. Please remember though – it is your responsibility to provide current address and telephone information – and even if you bill is sent to your old address you are still expected to send your rent in on time. Q. How do I make a payment?
A. We strive to make your storage experience as hassle free as possible – and that includes paying your bill. Payments can be processed by mail, in person or through our website. You may also arrange to have your payment automatically deducted from your MasterCard®, Visa®, Discover®, or American Express® credit card or directly from your bank account. We also accept debit cards as well as checks. Or you can pay online in the "My Account" section at www.npstorage.com. Q. Do you have automatic payment through my checking or credit card accounts?
A. Yes we have several methods for automatic monthly payments – AutoPay – in order to meet your requirements. We also provide on line access to your account so ‘secure account’ payments can be made at your convenience from any place you have access to a computer. Q. Do you provide on line access to my account?
A. Yes, once you are a customer and have your access code you can log on to our website www.npstorage.com and easily access your account to make payments, check account history, download your history of charges and payments or update your personal information Bact to top

Q. Are online payments safe?
A. All personal and payment information submitted to our secure online server is encrypted so that none of this information can be seen or intercepted by a third party. Our SSL certification guarantees that we have a fully validated secure server.Bact to top
Q. When is my payment considered late?
A. Your payment is due on the 1st of each month. Your payment must be received and clear your bank or Credit Card Company by the 5th of the month. Payments received or that clear after the 5th are considered late and your account will be billed for a late fee.
We provide on line payment through our website so if you are out of town or making a last minute payment you can avoid any late payment penalty by logging into your account and making a payment. Q. Do you prorate my rent if I move out before the end of the month?
A. Billing is sent out on the 20th of each month and your rent is due on the first day of the month. Rent is not prorated or refunded when you move out. Q. Do you provide insurance?
A. We provide tenant insurance through The XYZr Company. We highly recommend you purchase insurance to protect your items. Your insurance premium will be included in your monthly billing and can be cancelled at any time. Learn more about our insurance program.Bact to top
Q. What do I need to do to access my storage unit?
A. It’s easy! To access your unit you just need your personal access code for the facility and the keys to the lock to your unit. Your personal code first allows access into the building and second allows access to your floor. You can visit your unit during office hours as well as during “Extended Access” hours if you have signed up for “Extended Access”. “Extended Access” allows access 24 hours a day seven (7) days a week. Q. How do I access my storage unit when the office is closed?
A. After office hours the doors at the entrance and at the loading dock are locked. However if you have signed up for “Extended Access” you will be able to use your personal access code using the key pad at the door to gain access to the building. After you are in the building you will use your access code to open the doors to your storage area or operate the elevator to your floor just like you would during office hours. Q. What are the terms and conditions of this site?
A. Northshore Pellissippi Storage Self Storage makes no warranties on this site and its terms are subject to change at any point in time.
